Better Book Titles

I was listening to NPR the other night and the discussion was about dystopic books worth reading. It caught my attention because they mentioned a great book but they said to “look past the bright pink cover because it really is horrible”. I am still searching for the book because I am certain my step-father would love it. How do I know? Well, he loved the movie The Road and they compared this book to the book The Road. Pretty simple, really. I am NOTORIOUS for judging books based on their cover (literally) so I found it especially interesting that they mentioned the problem of books with poor covers because they really do turn the reader away. But moving on…

NPR discussed this website: Better Book Titles.

Not even kidding, I have been going bananas looking at this website. It is funny. But more than that- it is spot on. I’ve been searching the archives for all of the books I have read (and even some I have not) and I catch myself thinking “yep, that’s more like it”. You should pop on over there and have a look. If you are a reader (which I am) you will love this site. Here are couple of my faves:

(The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time)

(127 Hours: Between a Rock and a Hard Place)

(Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day)

(The Very Hungry Caterpillar)

(The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo)

(How the Grinch Stole Christmas!)

(Decision Points)

Clearly the best book to end with…
