From 4-5 months we have seen a huge change in Caleb. He is growing and learning in leaps and bounds. He is changing so much and I love watching him learn and develop his own personality. This has been a month of “firsts” for sure.
Firsts: Caleb ate solids! We decided against starting him on rice cereal since it tastes so gross (I wouldn’t even eat that crap) and started him out with apples and then moved to bananas. I was going to wait until 6 months but he tried to intercept my sandwich one day and I thought that was a big sign that he was ready. He was. I’ll post more about his new foods in the coming days. Caleb had his first cold (thanks to daycare). It only took 4 days at that germ fest to get him! Caleb went on his first plane ride. You can read more about that here.
Milestones: Caleb has started to show interest in his legs and feet. It is only a matter of time before his toes replace his fingers as his new obsession. Caleb is also very close to sitting up by himself. He works on it every day and tries to pull himself out of his car seat.
Likes: His jumperoo. He loves jumping around and watching the dogs while he plays in his jumperoo. There is a jumper at daycare and they mentioned to me how much he loves it. Even when he is super sleepy he will still party in that thing. Caleb loves being tickled. Caleb has finally decided that he likes his pacifier. He only uses it when he naps at daycare or when we are traveling and he likes taking it out and putting it back in his mouth. Sophie the Giraffe teething toy. He LOVES this thing. Caleb likes listening/watching himself on video. He’s a little narcissist. Caleb also seems to really enjoy daycare. There is one little boy there who is a month older than Caleb- and he loves him some Caleb. I love seeing them on the floor playing together. The other day I walked into daycare and every single baby in Caleb’s room was asleep…except Caleb. He was sitting in the middle of the room playing with all of the toys. Opportunist.
Dislikes: Being sick and having his snot sucked out. He use to never mind when we used the nasal aspirator on him- now he turns his head and gets very grumpy. I can’t say I blame him. Other than that- I can’t seem to find much he doesn’t like. He does still dislike being sleepy and hungry but who doesn’t?
