Tea for Two
As you can tell from the title I am absolutely obsessed with tea! It all began because of my friend Noal. He introduced me to delicious teas and from there, I have been a maniac! Last Valentine’s Day, manfriend got me the coolest gift ever! In fact, it further spawned my obsession with tea. He found this great site called Adagio Teas and he got me the ingenuiTEA. You can watch the video for it on their website.
It works great at work because you can brew any loose leaf tea by the cup in your office. It is microwave safe and while the filters need to be changed frequently, they are pretty cheap so you can stock up on them. Besides the ingenuiTEA, Adagio has a phenomenal list of teas for you to choose from. You can even make your own blends! I’ve enjoyed making my own and sampling blends others have made. The big perk is that if people buy your blend- they add credits to your account for future tea purchases! Whoo hoo!
One of my favorite teas is Pu Erh Dante. This is a very earthy, dark tea and it’s not one of those teas that everyone loves. If you like “drinking the forest floor” (as one of my co-workers put it) then you will like this tea. I, personally, love the smell of dirt and cut grass so this tea is definitely my match. Since we started the whole “baby makin” business, I haven’t been able to drink it (caffeine) so I passed my Pu Erh off to my friend. I hated staring at it and wanting a cup so I take comfort in knowing someone else is enjoying it!
Now that I am off the caffeinated teas, I have turned my affections to herbal tea. Specifically, peppermint tea. I sampled Twinings Peppermint at my sister’s house and fell in love with it right away. Now I am a peppermint tea snob. I actually believe I can taste the differences in tea brands; I can. The Twinings Peppermint, I believe, is the best tea. We have a Keurig and love that it makes single cup coffee, tea, cocoa, etc so I love that I can have a variety of tea one cup at a time.
I’m willing to try any tea though. Right now, I go between Peppermint and Chamomile most days. Until recently I’ve been in love with a Gingerbread herbal tea, but as of late, I haven’t been as into it as before and think it tastes a little pungent. Tea is something that relaxes me and makes me feel good. I love smelling tea but I especially love drinking tea. On my “Journey to Thirty” I know I will be drinking many more teas. But what I love most about tea is that good conversation almost always accompanies good tea.
A pot of hot water and a variety of tea requires good conversation, laughter and memorable times. I know when I’m drinking tea I’m relaxed and enjoying whatever company I am in. Whether it’s just me alone with a blanket and my doggies, me and manfriend watching a movie and snuggling, or me and the company of friends laughing and telling stories, I know that good times and hot tea are a perfect balance to a crazy life!
